Who Are WE.....
We are Dan and Elise, two souls united in this crazy adventure of life. This trip is our next chapter.
We were married August 12, 2007 on Long Beach in Tofino, British Columbia. We have called Kelowna, BC home ever since, but this past year we sold most of our possessions, put our noses to the grindstone, and together began the arduous process of saving for a year of travel.
In our 8 years together, we have each grown in amazing ways. We have tackled challenges head on, and achieved more together than we ever could have apart. Our first trip together was within our own province when we spent 10 days on Vancouver Island visiting Tofino and Victoria. Our first time outside of Canada together was a week in Mexico for our honeymoon, and our first trip outside of North America came in 2009 when we spent 5 weeks touring much of Egypt as well as an extended stop in Istanbul, Turkey.
It wasn't long after we were married that we grew tired of the repeated question of when we were going to settle down and have children... Neither of us was ready for this step, we both wanted to see more of the world, so a '5 Year Plan' was concocted, to go for a big trip each year for the next 5 years. Neither of us were fully prepared for how international travel would change us, how it would feel coming back from our first trip.
When we returned from that trip, our lives were turned upside down. It was soon after that we realized our 'plan' wasn't good enough, and that we needed more. And in what now seems like the blink of an eye, here we are.

Life goes on...
Our year-long trip has since come to an end. We thank you for following us on our journey, for your comments and questions, and overall interest. It was inspiring to see thousands of unique visitors from more countries than we've visited check in to read our stories. And while this adventure has seen it's finale, Life as we know it continues, through the everyday mundane, to sporadic travels and new ideas and challenges. The stories we've told remain, the memories vivid and the dreams, never ending. The journey continues, with more adventures on the horizon.
